Bangkok Songkran Splendours Festival

Experience the demonstration of the Songkran Festival in 4 regions, pouring some scented water to the Buddha Image, enjoy various tasty dishes and cultural performance at Nagaraphirom Park during 10-15 April, 2012 at 10.00-20.00 hrs. (the Opening Ceremony will be held on 9 April, 2012). Visit the Royal Temple such as Wat Phra Kaeo, Wat Pho, Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), Wat Ratchaorasaram, Wat Ratchaphradit, Wat Ratchabophit, Wat Bowornniwet, Wat Suthat, Wat Phraram Kao, Wat Chanasongkhram, Wat Saket (The Golden Mount), Wat Rakhang, and Wat Kanlayanamit. Moreover, partake in the Songkran Festival in Rattanakosin Royal Square and ts neighboring (Bang Lamphu, Khaosan Rd., Phra Athit Rd., Santhichaiprakan and Wisut Krasat) (During 9-17 April, 2012, at 10.00-18.00 hrs. Please visit an information booth of each temple for getting a passport to collect the stamp of each temple for receiving a souvenir at Wat Pho).
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Songkran Festival

Offering alms to monks in front of Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit. Pouring water on the hands of elders to receive their blessing. Water splashing with elephants. Offering alms in accordance with the Mon tradition, and bathing the Buddha image by pouring water through a bamboo gutter. Admire the procession of traditional Mon flags. Dress in Mon costumes and try Mon traditional cuisine.
Suphanburi Maha Songkran 2012

Main Activities:
On April 13th, 2012 from 1.00 pm onwards, there will be the Golden Luang Pho To Buddha Image Procession, Flora Procession, 10 Districts Songkran Goddess Procession from both government and private sectors, and end with water throwing with Suphanburi artists.
On Apirl 13th – 16th, 2012, the activities are cultural shows such as I-saeo and Lam Tat, Thai flok traditions such as Thai Song Dam, Thai Phuan, Lao Shi, Lao Khrang, Songkran Beauty Contest, shows from Suphanburi Dancing Arts College, Thai food fair, etc.
Miscellaneous Activities:
The whole event takes place on a distance of 5 kilometers on Nen Kaeo Road including Buddha images showering, Phratha Chedi showering at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, pay homage to the 2,000 sandstone Buddha images, walking under an elephant, Buddha image showering at Wat Phra Loi, pay respect to a bamboo-woven Buddha image at Wat No Phutthangkun, reclining Buddha inmage showering at Wat Phra Non, 1,000 year old Buddha image showering at Wat Shi Sukkasem, 700 year old Buddha image showering at Wat Phihan Daeng, and then make merit at Wat Sawang Arom and shower Luang Pho Wacha Sit Buddha image.
Ko Sichang Songkran Festival

After giving the alms to monks and pouring some scented water to them as well as to the Buddha Image as for the good beginning of new year, participate in the Kong Khao ceremony. Pouring some scented water to elders and ask for their blessing for the auspicious life, create a sand pagoda, enjoy folk play and entertainment and cheer up in the event of carrying a lady in which a male will ask for permission from a lady and carry her to the sea and bring her back
